WTN: Insert Simon & Garfunkel pun here

2002 Albert Boxler Riesling Reserve - France, Alsace, Alsace AOC (10/2/2013)
Two years ago I thought there was no profit in further aging this wine. Oops. Where a couple of years ago it seemed to be heading to the overly austere, last night it had developed additional richness/depth from bottle age, while retaining most of its lemony fruit and taking on a mature apple tone as well. There's tons of minerality on the back end, and a few grams of rs lingering around for balance. Just delicious!

You are just a pour boy, right?

No idea how good pun it was, it was the only part of the lyrics I remembered. :)

The sounds of silence are preferable to what David apparently can come up with when the muse strikes him.

David is a master punster, but I can't rightly take him to task on it, being of the same stripe myself.

More like a midge over troubled waters.

"all lies and jests
still a man hears what he wants to hear and disregards the rest"

In the comedy hierarchy puns are considered the lowest form of humor. Reading this thread has the effect of wearing a total body covering hairshirt. Masochism! masochism! :( :(

For a different stipe of humour? (Everybody hurts when there are puns flying!)

It's the end of the world as we know it.

keep em coming, Howie..I can still the remember the schoolyard featured in "me and Julio down by the schoolyard", not far from the Lemon Ice King in Corona..I went to high school with Paul and Artie back in their Tom and Jerry days and was a fraternity brother of Paul's in college.

I used to work with a guy who told me his father wrote the song "Like a Red Rubber Ball"...

Probably of interest to only me, but in the interests of keeping this painful thread going...

In graduate school at University of Michigan I roomed with a Bronx citizen who knew Artie Garfunkel but didn't claim to know Paul Simon. Her mother sent her off to Ann Arbor with a nine-month supply of shampoo in case she couldn't buy it in Michigan! Fredda was the first self-proclaimed "hippie" I knew personally.

didn't really know Artie,wd see him in the halls at school..Knew Paul reasonably well,, Lat time I sw him was about 30 years ago..I had already moved upstate, came down to Manhattan for a visit and bumped ino Paul whil waiting for a cab..we chatted for a while and that was the end of it..No lets get togethers, etc,,just hi and goodbye..A couple of our fraternity brothers were closer to Paul and did stay in touch with him for a while ..That notwithstanding, I have always liked his music
