Purchased three years ago at the Sampler (?) when visiting London. Not the best storage conditions for this bottle but let`s see.

WTN: 2002 Charles Joquet Chinon Clos de la Dioterie, Loire Valley.

Good natural cork, 12.5% alc, decanted some sediment, drunk over 6 hr period.
Have to say it went very well with roast leg of lamb but not so great on its own.

Very faded colour, nose showing some age but not that oxidised as one taster thought. Pretty borderline though.
Took at least two hrs to show up, quite dry, no ripe fruit period. Hint of pepper, good acidity, some capsicums here, cherry, hint of raspberry. Fruit rather buried behind all that is going on here. Pity.

Surprised no comments here. Some other folks talk about an unsettled period at Joquet, whilst another is going to open his `02 to see what is developing.
