Stumbled across this in Costco yesterday and at $9.99 thought it worth a try. Tasted tonight and, while not one for aging, this provides amazing quality at this price.

2011 Bodegas Barco de Piedra, Ribera del Duero, 100% Tempranillo, 13.5% alc.: Deep black-purple to a red-violet edge. Smoke and extracted blackberry fruit enhanced by creamy oak tones, iron filings and black licorice on the nose. Firm, dry and direct entry to a soft center where black licorice tones and iron filings complement reluctant, though deep black currant fruit, at once primary and appealing on and above the palate, yet seemingly lacking beneath, giving a relatively light impression for a fairly full wine, with licorice accents lingering through a moderate to long finish.
