1. Cargasacchi PinotGrigio InvincibleSun Cargasacchi-JalamaVnyd/SBC (16.3%; RS: 14.5 Brix)
PeterAngelo & JuliaManuela Cargasacchi/Lompoc 2009
: Med.dark gold color; very strong peachyapricotty/grapey some Sauternes-like bit toasty/oak slight earthy lovely nose; fairly sweet somewhat tart very strong grapey/peachy/apricotty some Sauternes-like light oak very balanced clean/beautiful flavor; very long/lingering very strong peachy/floral/grapey/apricotty rather sweet tart some Sauternes-like finish; one of the best Sauternes from Calif I've had in a long time; fairly sweet but the acidity to balance it w/o seeming sweet/sour in character; beautiful dessert wine at a very good price. $29.00/hlf

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. I knew that Peter made a PG Ramato, but never knew he made a dessert PG. I was expecting this to be along the lines of a passito PG, but but I was picking up hints of botrytis. According to Peter, there is no botrytis on the grapes they use. Yet it had more complexity than I usually associate w/ passito wines, which I find often on the simple side. Whatever he did, it did it well.
