It's satire, of course, but good satire.

A man from Texas is suing Robert M. Parker, Jr. the founder and former owner of The Wine Advocate for what he is calling a “lifetime wasted drinking profoundly expensive wine I don’t even like.” The man said he trusted Parker “to choose the best wines” and was willing to pay what he now realizes are exorbitant prices.

His realization came when he was given a glass of red wine at a dinner party that, he later found out, Parker rated a 70. “It was unlike anything I had ever tasted before. Hardly ‘innocuous.’ It smelled like so many things… not just blackberries and vanilla which is what I thought good red wine tasted like.” The man was also excited to discover that he could drink it with food....

the article IS dated April 1. It was nicely done, with some restraint. I'd give it 97 points! :D

This lawsuit opens up world of possibilities. Can I sue Zagat for the money I wasted at underwhelming 25 point restaurants? Can I sue Gene Shalit for the suffering I endured while viewing Tin Cup? Can I sue my barber for convincing me that mullets were "the latest thing?" Suing others for one's own bad decisions could become a growth industry if this guy hits the jackpot agianst Parker.

I miss those stories. A Swedish authority for the protection of civilians stated a few years ago that Swedes should be able to trust reports in the media, even on April 1st, and then these stories all but disappeared...

But that also means that Fox News would not stand a chance should they want to broadcast!

Yep, the tabloids are only allowed to lie if their aim is profit, not entertainment!

Can I get any compensation from Salil for the money I spend on Baudry?
