2010 Alfred Merkelbach Ürziger Würzgarten Riesling Auslese
Tasted over the course of several days, this has all the cut one could ask for, buffered by yellow and red fruit. It's aulsese in its style, though predictably in an older mode, where it is not full on dessert wine. Held up fairly well over the course of four days, though by the last glass the acid was really at center stage. Should have finished it up in three. Fine value as always from the Merkelbach brothers.

Gahhhhhhhhhhhh! I really wanted to pick this one up but MacArthur's were out of it by the time I got there. They have the 2011, which I'll get just on principle but this is one of the 2010s that I really wanted to grab a hold of. I really like the deft touch the brothers bring to their wines. And the prices? Fughgedaboutit.

Nice notes as always.
