WTN: 2011 Clarksburg Wine Company "Chenin VS"

I really enjoy this producer's "Vouvray-Style" Chenin Blanc. There is a fine crispness here, and unlike some California Chenins, this is not "sweet" at all, but intriguingly savory and minerally. And it is this savoryness that really stands out!

They also had a quite fine, if young and a bit oaky at the moment, 2010 "Reserve" cabernet actually made with Clarksburg fruit! It was surprisingly delicious, with some complexity going on!

Also found a new winery project called "Draconis". I quite enjoyed his "traditional" style Syrah. The Zins were a little candied to my palate, but the Syrah was very, very Rhonish.
