WTN: EaglePoint PetiteSirah '02...(short/boring)

Tried last night after my SouthAfrica CheninBlanc was a wipe-out:
1. EaglePointRanch PetiteSirah MendoCnty (14.5%) 2002: Very dark/black color; strong earthy/chocolaty/PS/peppery/mushroomy/boysenberry slight alcoholic bit toasty/oak quite big/intense nose;rather soft some hard/tannic/extracted strong earthy/PS/blackberry/boysenberry/mushroomy bit tomatoey/tomatoe sauce light toasty/oak flavor; very long peppery/PS/blackberry/chocolaty some vanilla/toasty/Am.oak somewhat tannic/hard/extracted finish; still pretty primary and tannic; maybe a wine that won't outlive its tannins; needs 3-8 yrs yet; still plenty of peppery/PS fruit and going strong.

A wee BloodyPulpit:
1. When I sliced off the capsule, I started to panic. It was closed by that hard/plastic SupremeCorq...notorious for their failures. But the first whiff as I decanted indicated that things were fine w/ the wine. I'm not sure how long Casey used the SupremeCorq...but I don't recall having one fail on me yet...unlike some other wineries.
