Cave des Vignerons de Saumur, Loire, France. 100% Cabernet Franc. 12.5% alcohol. Badass artificial cork--was hard to drill down using a winged-lever corkscrew; the cork came out cleanly but then I had to use a pair of pliers to get the cork off the corkscrew. The cork would not go back into the bottle easily so I used a glass stopper left from a Riesling. Sort of an "oeil de perdrix" (eye of the partridge) color. It might also be described as a light rosy color with clarity. It was a bit spritzy. The rose' wine still tastes fresh and young but probably should be consumed over the next six months. I would describe the flavors as pomegranate and citrus--others might liken it to other red berries. This performed well with pork egg rolls and with ham. This was one of my favorite rose' wines last summer. My final bottle.
