2006 Éric Texier Côtes du Rhône-Brézème - France, Rhône, Northern Rhône, Côtes du Rhône-Brézème (3/22/2013)
Time has been kind to this wine. When I first had it I was always on the edge as to whether it had too much acidity for its own good. Now 4 years on I am fairly well satisfied that it had exactly enough acidity for its own good. Pepper, warm herb and grilled meat aromas are knit well together, and follow through on the palate where the wine picks up earthy nuances that complement the initial aromas and flavors. It's really a fantastic value, and I wish I had held onto more of this vintage, as it's drinking very well right now. It gives me faith to hold the 2008 for longer than I had planned.

He does make some lovely wines, doesn't he?

Appreciate the note. I have some of the Brezeme VV/Vieille Serine from '06 downstairs, but will just hold off opening it a bit longer after reading about the CDR.
