Willamette Valley, OR. 13.5% abv. About 70% of the fruit is from Dundee Hills. Other fruit is from the Chehalem Mountains AVA and the Eola-Amity Hills AVA. Winemaker Jacques Tardy. About 29% new French oak. 800 cases produced. Dark burgundy color; opaque. Sappy dark-fruited wine with pine needle notes and slight tartness on the finish. Savory notes predominate over sweet notes. Enjoyable with a broiled lamb chop and scalloped potatoes. The second evening I had it with a salad topped with fried chicken bites. A bit of a changeling--on the second evening I liked the first glass but then found the second glass a bit diluted and faint on the palate. That may have resulted from having some Gouda cheese in between. The Gouda and the wine may have clashed.
