A couple of new wines from Jojo's shop

Egon Muller Scharzhofberger Riesling Kabinett 2011 - A Kabinett that tastes like a Kabinett. Not overly sweet. Very fine, light. Lots of mineral with a tiny hint of smoky flint. Peach, green apple, apple skins texture. Great complexity on the finish. Starts with lemon rind but builds up in intensity to orange marmalade. Possibly the best Kabinett I've ever had.

Roberto Voerzio Barolo Cerequio 2006 - Decanted two and a half hours. Very dark. A touch musty at the beginning but it blew off. Very oaky and tannic despite the decanting. Too tight to get a good read on it. Prune, coffee and a bit of earth, mostly. Needs a very long decanting time or many more years in the bottle to be ready.

No price yet for the Voerzio but the Egon Muller is P 3350.00 (USD 81.00).

Oof. I thought Egon Muller was expensive over here.

The Spätlese here is about 50€ which is pretty fair. I haven't seen the Kabinett lately. What's the price on the Kab. these days in the US?

Last ones I bought were 2010 for $49.99. That is about my limit.

I got the 09 at a PC sale for $32. Great wines, but over $50 for a Kab is hard for me

I just paid 73 and thought it was a good buy, my normal dealer Heiner Lobenberg wants 85. Do you mean I can have it for 50!?

Yeah, the price is way beyond what I'm willing to pay. Fortunately, Jojo is very generous in opening sample bottles.

Where is here :?: The best internet offer in Germany I can find is more than 76€ for the 2011 Spätlese.
The Kabinett costs 38 € at least.

I bought the 2008 a couple of months ago for 55€. In 3 vintages it went up to 80€? That seems excessive. China?

To be clear, the $ 80 price is for a Manila, Philippines based merchant.
