Diluted garnet color with semi-transparency. A little tart or bitter. Not as beguiling as mhy past experiences with this domaine (which were generally at Premier Cru level.) Okay, but I'm probably getting more value for my money by sticking to the village or 1er Cru wines. It did improve a bit with aeration--some cherry notes coming through. I had this with leftover lamb and baked potato and another evening with a cheeseburger.
2009, on the other hand, is in my experience an excellent year for Bourgogne Rouge, Cotes de Nuits Villages, and the Cote d'Or villages-level wines. There are some excellent values to be had there.
