My Java is giving me fits and is not allowing me into chat. I don't think I will be able to get in this evening either. Hopefully others will be able to join in. Please come to chat. For those of you who may have forgotten, chat gets started around 9:30 PM for those of us on the east coast, 8:30 PM for those of you in Chicago and 9:30 in other parts of fly over country. I guess that means 6:30 PM on the left coast. If my calculations are correct everyone in NZ needs to join us at 3:30 PM Thursday and Australia at 1:30 PM on Thursday afternoon for those in Sydney and eastern Oz. It will be an ungodly 3:30 AM in Israel and Helsinki, 2:30 AM in Paris, and Berlin, and 1:30 AM in London. Of course it is all worth the sleep deprivation. Come in early and see who is here. Don't be late!!!!! (I hope I have the time changes down.If not, let me know!)

I really wish we could start chat at 9PM instead of 9:30! If I am still up at 9:30 I will peek in, but I doubt that I will stay long. I understand that I am a lone voice crying in the wilderness!

Nah. Is there a good reason that chat couldn't start earlier besides "we've always done it that way"? (Says the guy who never shows up on Wed.)

There was a security scare concerning version 1.6 of java so all the browser-makers caused the browsers to disable it. I have downloaded a new version of java -- yes, they have cleverly named it "1.7" -- and am able to re-enable it in the browser.

You might do the same.

Jeff, I never had any trouble with version 6, but when they released version 7, everything Java ceased to work. I reverted back to 6 and all was well again. However when v7 update 9 was released it all worked ok again and that is the version I am using. One thing though Firefox does now caution about a security problem with the page, but I think it is because the chat room is not encrypted.
