Costanti, Brunello di Montalcino, 2001
Cherry maroon color. Fragrant sandalwood, leather, cherry pit. Quite concentrated of cherry, mulberry, spice cake, lively with good acidity, tannins clamping down on the end. This is more closed and brooding than an earlier bottle tasted 2-3 years ago. Taut and muscular, like a secret service agent in an Armani suit instead of that poseur at the gym. The real deal. A for potential, A- currently.
