Cotes du Ventoux. 50% tank-aged Grenache from 70-year-old vines, 40% Syrah and 10% Mourvedre. This is the next step up wine to the "Cuvee Persia" that I posted on previously. Much deeper in color, opaque black/purple. This wine exhibits deep flavors of blackberry, currant, dark cherry, dark chocolate and roasted coffee. It's deep and brooding with a long, linguring finish. Enjoyed over a couple of hours, I noticed that a gaggle of very fine tannins emerged after hour one and rather shut down the wine at the finish. I would say this wine needs short term cellaring to strut it's stuff...and the stuff is very much there. Picked up several at $19.99 per.

Definitely sounds appealing and can appreciate what the grenache would bring to the party, especially as the grape it displaces is syrah.
