WTN: Forlorn-Hope QueSaudade Verdelho '11..(short/boring)

Tried last night at dinner:
1. Forlorn-Hope QueSaudade Calif Verdelho (217 cs; 13.9%) MatthewRorick/Fairfiled 2011: Light gold slightly cloudy color; very strong floral/carnations strong mango/pineapple/spicy/lemon curd slight stony very attractive/perfumed nose; fairly tart bit metallic/stony rather ripe/pineapple/mango/lemon/floral very attractive flavor; very long tart/lean/rich spicy/mango/pineapple bit stony/metallic finish; quite an attractive white some like a Riesling/Albarino w/ a nice underlying minerality. $28.00

1. Forlorn-Hope: The project of MattRorick who focuses on grape varieties that are a "forlorn hope". Makes his wine at the same facility as AbeSchoener/ScholiumProject. I would guess these grapes were sourced from the same vnyd in Clarksburg. Verdelho is, of course, a Portugese variety, planted mostly on Madeira. It's attracting some interest in Australia. It's a variety that has wonderful aromatics and should be planted more in Calif.
