I'm going to open a magnum of Ruinart Rose NV along with some Prosecco depending on the number of drinkers in attendance. What is everyone else planning to open as 2013 approaches?

We're going to open a 1996 Dom Perignon to ring in 2013.

I'll probably open a NV de Venoge Brut Cordon Bleu. I had one over Christmas and really liked it. We will be dining and playing euchre with non-wine geeks so nothing too fancy.

Our plans keep changing, now it looks like a small local party with non-winegeeks, I'll probably carry a couple of bottles of stuff I have or have had multiples of, vintage Ellners, NV Bremonts, Pinon or Huet Vouvray Bruts

Something rose since we are having burgers. No way we are staying up until midnight.

Thinking Devaux NV Blanc de Noirs after sampling yesterday downtown.
Good price at $62 and will keep me awake unlike Davids bottle

Like Dale, we're also planning to spend the evening with non-geeks, so will get alone with some Sharffenberger or Roederer Estate. However, if my cold doesn't do some kind of miracle we'll be putting off the celebration for a few days and having something a bit more important.

The 31st festivities will be at my house this year - my wife's family, so we'll be around 30 people, and only my wife and I are really into wine. Thus, I'll be pouring basic Taittinger Brut Réserve NV. Dinner of the 1st will be for my immediate family - just 8 of us since my two sisters, niece, and brother-in-law are out of the country, and my family drinks wine - so I'll be pouring Dom Pérignon (haven't decided which vintages though).

Not sure yet. Could be one or both of these, depending on who's here:

Georges Vesselle Grand Cru Brut Non Vintage
Paul Goerg Premier Cru Blanc de Blancs

Wine with bubbles? Yuk.

I went to a tasting a month ago where they served Krug 90, Salon 90 and Clos du Mesnil 90 in the first flight; I let my neighbour finish my pours.

My wife's working late and won't arrive home until close to 11....maybe, so I plan to open the other Knot rose "Sinnet" sparkler with some finger food.

Most likely going to a friends house for cocktails and finger foods then, well before midnight, returning home to have a pork roast with Pinot Noir (don't know which one yet) and then as the clock strike 12, the 1999 Mailly Brut reserve. I really like to have my champagne with Gougeres. It was on this forum that I found the recipe and fell in love with these treats years ago.

Have a safe New Years Eve and a healthy and prosperous New Year!

We normally don't keep sparklers in the house, but we have a bottle of Freixenet Cordon Negro Brut that had our name (literally) on it at a spring wedding; so it goes pop tonight.

1996 Jean Laurent Blanc de Noirs is chilling and will be drunk with dinner (we're too old to make it to midnight).
Happy New Year to ALL,
Gary

Initially we had no plans for sparkling wine. My wife is not a big fan (plus she's taking antibiotics at the moment anyway and won't be drinking) and I was more in the mood for red wine, so I had lined up 98 Jadot CM Amoureuses for dinner.

But, we made last-minute plans for a pre-dinner afternoon playdate (for the kids) and champagne toast (for the parents) to mark the holiday. So I bought an NV Pierre Moncuit BdB. I haven't had a Moncuit in years and am looking forward to it.
