An `06 Mesh Riesling from Eden Valley was in poor shape, bad storage somewhere?

`09 Raventos i Blanc Cava Reserva Brut, L`Hereu. Catalunya Spain.

Will remain one of my fave Xmas drinkies prior to the meal. Light yellow color with nice steady, small bubbles. Some pear on the nose, chalk, peach and quite minerally. Lovely entry, soft, great mid-palate, pear, mineral again. Not much comment from those sharing the bottle which was a pity.

I was also fortunate to taste a white `10 Maligno from Ch de Calvieres (Pays d`Oc) plus a very young `07 Juline CdP from Paul Autard.

We drank an '03 Brunello with the rib roast. Excellent match. Wish I could tell you the producer. We toasted with Gaudrelle Cremant d'Loire which is an excellent sparkler. Finished off the night with Inskillin Vidal icewine!

The new vintage of one of my favorite California wines....Lioco Indica. Mendocino County Old-Vine Carrignane. Beautiful cherry fruit with strong herbal notes that went well with our grazing buffet of appetizers and light snacks!
