Atlantic Canada Sommeliers website - quick plug

I've been busy the last month or so creating a new website for the Atlantic Canada sommeliers organization.

On it are a number of resources for anyone planning to visit Atlantic Canada and wanting to know what is going on wine-wise.

It has a number of links to some sites you all know, as well as some you may not.

The calendar is an up to date place to find out what's goling on beverage wise in the region.

It is not a commercial site (the ads were sold to cover the hosting cost only) so this is not really a business plug. I am just a volunteer.

Check us out sometime at http://www.atlanticsommeliers.ca

Jeff, this looks like a great initiative.

I hope that your group will be able to put out some real publicity for Nova Scotian wines - the unique regional ones, like Acadie Blanc, New York Muscat, Cayuga, Millot, etc. - because we over in the Ontarian boonies need to learn about these Eastern Canadian wines that never make it here.

There is continued opposition to expanding wine knowledge into these areas, yet I think that it is precisely what needs to happen.

I wish you all the best in this new venture.

Don't forget this grape. It probably makes our best red wine.

The Gaspereaux Valley Vineyards one (the vineyard is the one on the front page of the website) is wonderful wine. Great acidity and fruit, plus a complexity that will fool a lot of geeks into thinking it is Chianti Classico.

It does well with Italian dishes, tomato based, and parmesan.
