WTN: 2005 Novy Chardonnay (Rosellas)

by Jason Hagen » Sat Nov 11, 2006 9:43 pm

2005 Novy Chardonnay Rosella’s Vineyard (SLH) 14.2% Alc
Ripe and fruity aromatics with a touch of honey. The wine attacks you mouth with fruit. Apples and pears followed by mouth coating honey and a touch of toast. The wine is perceivably sweet. I would guess residual sugar. Normally I don’t enjoy chardonnay with out food but I can handle the Novys. There is plenty of acidity but it doesn’t fatigue you palate. I know I had a mailer with info on this but I am assuming this doesn’t see any (or little) new wood and there is no malo. I know there is not much of the Novy Chards…so I advise everyone to stay away from them. I mean they cost $139.00  a bottle. I kid :D . 88 pts

Good advice, Jason... people should stay away from this and the Keefer Chard too...

There is no ML, and they are fermented in half oak/half stainless steel.. Also whole cluster pressing.

Novy is making some very cool Chards... I mean, stay away!!!
Cheers, Jim
