2010 Dönnhoff Riesling QbA Nahe
Medium-bodied, off-dry, well balanced, with better acidity than many “mere” QbAs out there – a little riper, too. Lightly mineral, with citrus, floral, and tropical notes. Very good.

2010 Oekonomierat Johann Geil I. Erben Muskateller QbA Trocken Rheinhessen
Medium-bodied, dry, well balanced, with moderate acidity; musky/floral, with apple and peach notes. Good/very good.

2009 Oekonomierat Johann Geil I. Erben Bechtheimer Heilig-Kreuz Scheurebe Kabinett
Floral/tropical/lychee nose. Full-bodied, round, well balanced, with moderate acidity, and tropical, apricot, floral, and lightly curranty notes. Very good.

2009 Meulenhof - Erben Justen Ehlen Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Auslese
Full, ripe, round, sweet, and well balanced; shows lime, tropical fruit, yellow plum, and mineral notes. Excellent.

2009 Theo Minges Gleisweiler Hölle Riesling Kabinett
Floral/slaty/chalky nose. Medium to full-bodied, ripe, off-dry, very lightly crisp, more round and corpulent (10% alcohol) than the other few Minges wines that I have had in the past. Tastes of lemonade, cherries, pink grapefruit, and apples; lightly saline, with the slate and fresh rose elements persisting nicely throughout. Becomes creamier on the midpalate. Good; a bit lacking in elegance, but I really liked the floral character here.

The Donnhoff is an annual buy..While I don't buy a lot of them, have enjoyed the wines of Minges and Meulenhof since discovering them about 7-8 yrs ago via Wine Advocate..guess I am a Parker sheep, Baaaah!

Jon,

Take comfort in the fact that Parker (really Rovani at the time..) was introduced to Meulenhof and Minges by Terry Theise. You're just a Theise disciple once removed.
There behind the glass lies a real blade of grass. Be careful as you pass. Move along. Move along.
