I know there are a few forumites here that follow Neal Martin`s site over in the UK. A terrific writer, storyteller and music buff.

This is excellent news for Neal! He now gets the recognition that his work deserves and apparently will make a few bucks doing what I'm sure he likes doing. I am very happy for him, but I would hope that it remains free to view his writings from now on also. It doesn't mention whether it's free or not or did I miss that info?

I would sincerely doubt it, Otto.

Hope it works for him, though. I've enjoyed his writing for a few years now.

Must say, this is a right out of left-field announcement.

That is a pity. But I really do think that with his great contribution, he does deserve ample payment. I never thought I'd say this, but if subscription to eBob gets his writing, I might actually subscribe. That would mean drinking four bottles less Musar / annum, but it might be worth it!

Yeah, me too! Not quite sure what will have to go to compensate for the cash layout!!!

For me I couldn't see myself subscribing whilst RP is in charge. I have discomfort about his influence and attitudes (more so with some of his followers though) and rank him somewhere near Sky TV (i.e. there's some very good stuff, but also much I don't approve of... and both have become overwhelming juggernauts).

I didn't read Neal's journal, so for me the loss is minimal, but for others it could be more significant. It's a tough decision for them, especially if they see value in Piedmont Report or one of the other contributors.

Great for Neal and I think good for the WA empire to have a different point of view. Parker attempting to build a lasting legacy? I think so.

I was nonplussed by the news.
I've been following Neal's site for a long time.

He's about to be made over.
And I'll not read him any more because I will not pay for the Parker site.
