Despite a big dollop of VA right up front, this turned out to be a juicy, but not jammy, ripe, but not gobby red with just enough tannin to give it some structure, and no oak in evidence.

I vaguely recall paying about $12 for this, maybe $13. I'd buy it again, without hesitation. Lively, zesty flavors, lots of berries, some tart acidity, smooth tannins and a bit of a rough edge on the finish that makes it even more appealling---smooth juiciness and rustic bite all in one swallow.

Wouldn't keep it too long---it's likely best when young, and not built for aging. Imagine it would be a wonderful barbecue wine.

Back label says it is a Jose Pastor Selection. fwiw
