We'll be staying for a week in Piemont (4 nights in Serralunga, 3 nights in Neviglie) and a week outside of Florence, so any recommendations for "don't miss" wineries or restaurants would be appreciated.

thanks,

No help here Marshall! I'm just piggybacking onto your thread because we're going to be in Gaiole in Chianti in early September.

I am so jealous!!

Where exactly outside of Florence will you be? Will you have access to a car? Will you spend time in Florence city as well? There is just too much to see, to do, to eat, and to drink. When will you be there? This fall or summer? I will be in Italy between July 25 and August 14. What are your favorite Tuscan wines?

If you venture into Turin, I'd recommend the Museo Pietro Micca which are a series of labyrynthine tunnels constructed in defence against attempts to undermine the city walls. Only about €3 and although there may not be an english speaking guide, it's still an impressive experience.

The only restaurants we visited were in Turin, which I suspect won't be of much use.

Hope you have a great trip and I look forward to hearing about the wines.

Ian
