  Floral nose that follows thru on the palate. Nice fruit and mouthfeel. Glycerine. There is a richness to the fruit, but with no hint of sweetness. A really nice Viognier, with just a bit of something on the back palate that tastes like the petro one gets from an older Riesling . This was nice with a tomato-based lentil soup with veggies. (91 pts.)

Of course this was not a particularly old viognier.

But, interesting match with the tomato soup. I guess there was enough powerful viognier fruit to stand up to it.

I've had some nice Viognier out of Larner Vnyd.

McPrice Myers was a find at HdR a few years back - created quite a buzz.

They make a syrah and a grenache too, IIRC. Nice wines, worth seeking out.

I tried the reds when they first came out and thought them a little too robust for my taste. I haven't had any since then (probably a year to a year and a half ago), so this is a pretty biased view.

The Viognier had been a big hit at an OL among a bunch of folks who are not usually too gaga over whites..... and it is good.

Don't know the Larner Vineyard, John.. but I now will be on the lookout.
