i don't know how many of you are familiar with the work of Ray and Eleanor Heald. They write for the Quarterly Review, Vineyard and Winery Management, and now for Appellation America. their most recent interview is at:

the Healds are judges at the Michigan Wine and Spirits Competition, so they know the wines and the people. they are among the most serious, educated and informed people in the industy IMO.

Thanks for posting that, David. Brys estate has done well with its Rielings, as I recall. I don't remember whether it was the semi-dry or semi-sweet or what competition it was, but I'm thinking it was the semi-sweet and was the International at San Francisco.
I have enjoyed a couple of their whites, and I am looking forward to trying their reds. It's nice to "meet" them.
