stevenson says that it used to be very good and very reliable; but not so now - iffy at best but seems to think the grande reserve is the best of a poor lot. juhlin likes the house better it seems; giving them 3 stars; but rates the grande reserve only 68.

Randy, I'm probably too late but look at the Google book search. I see two or three references at http://books.google.com/books?q=telmont ... e&as_brr=0

There's a short Hatchette review.

Regards, Bob

Great, Randy. I'm just starting to look at Google Books first for new research. Bob

stevenson and juhlin are the two big writers in english on champagne - stevensn's book is The World Encyclopedia of Champagne and Sparkling Wine and Juhlin's is 4000 Champagnes. never run across de telmont; but since i collect placques de muselet i hope i at least see on of those somewhere. maybe you could mail me one if you drink it.

Randy,

It just occurred to me that there is another great source. If you have a membership in Amazon, http://www.amazon.com/, you can search on Telmont in the book section and you will get to the actual text of the Stevenson book, and 11 others.

This is a great way to get quotes that you might need -- you have to copy them out -- you can't highlight and dup.

Regards, Bob

Is this for a website?

Or something you were drinking?

If the latter, do tell, how was it?
