Hey there, here's another backlog note from the Canadian trip Laura and I just completed. AT the end I have posted the link to my photo set on Shutterfly, so click away if you feel like it...

The Port: Pale ruby, with noticeable orange/brown rim. Essence of raspberries with toast, hazelnut, orange zest and cinnamon on the nose. The restaurant was a touch warm, so the wine showed a bit alcoholic, but beyond that there were lots of toasty, nutty dry citrusy flavors with a lingering hazelnut and raspberry finish. Just delicious stuff. I could get used to drinking 30 or 40 year old tawnys. They just have that extra dimension over 20 year olds.

And as for the photo link...

Thanks David, pics like these just confirm how lucky we are living here in Alberta. Mind you, the prairie looks a bit different but have their own beauty too.

I think the mountians are the main thing I missed about moving away from Calgary... besides the calgary flames.

Ah the Flames. My adopted hockey team. Since our Whalers became the Hurricanes I have had to look north of the border for winter entertainment.
