2001 Tobin James, Commemorative Zinfandel. It gave a ton of zinberry, and spicy, vanilla notes on the nose and came across on the palate with more fruit and complexity, smooth edges, and no heat. It gave an extremely long finish. Yum! Sorry Jenise. ($45 U.S. and 16.5% alcohol).

Wow.. the prices on this have really jumped. I bought the '99 at Wine Exchange for $18.

Zinberry, eh? :)

Well, mine came with the Spring '04 shipment from the James Gang, so I didn't lay out that much. $45 was the list price.

16.5% alcohol but no heat? That's hard to imagine....

I joined on recommendation from a friend, and I lasted for 1 year. I decided I just didn't like too many of their wines, and I thought their prices were much too high relative to quality.

They send out a lot of wine, though it was cool that they sent free wine and gifts in each shipment. But my tastes outgrew them too. I focus my purchases much more than I could in the James Gang.
