Yalumba Barossa Shiraz Viognier 2003 - Very dark. Soft. Thick but not jammy. Very little tannin but with some acid to give it structure. Some initial sweetness with mocha notes and after an hour lots of toffee. Dries a bit on the finish. A lush wine for drinking now. Lots of oak but everything in balance. Very good for me.

Dehesa La Granja Vino de Mesa 1999 - Slightly too much alcohol for the wine's body. Mocha, dried fruit. Chewy. Lots (but not to excess) of acid makes it a good food wine. Moderate tannins. Seems like it will still age before reaching full potential. Great QPR. Very good.
