A monopole--only grower/winemaker for this particular vineyard in Burgundy. 13.5% alcohol
Deep crimson color, paler rose red around the rim of the glass.
Nose of Rainier cherries. Sour cherry on the palate (pleasant with cheese or other appropriate food). Medium-long finish, well-balanced. Enjoyed it more the second night. It seemed less tart and complemented a thick pork chop topped with Gorgonzola cheese. Really quite nice. Zachy's advertises as a serious bottle of red Burgundy for $25 and says they couldn't keep the 2002 in stock. Burghound (Allen Meadows) says it offers first-rate quality for a very modest price. Burghound, however, found cassis and black fruit rather than the cherries I thought I detected.

Maybe it was more cassis and black fruit when he tasted it, but since then has evolved into pleasant cherries..
