Can you give negative points?

I'll check my notes and revert, but from memory:

1. Glen Ellen -- favorite half bottle wine on the Acela -- if I forget my own.

2. Corbette Canyon -- ditto on Newark/California flights.

3. Vendage -- I can honestly say I've never had one -- that I thought was drinkable.

They're not Yellowtail either. I've had each in the last three months and I would have to say they were all totally undrinkable.

I usually drink Thunderbird or Mogen David in a paper bag, so those three would be a step up for me.

Larry, as the others have said, unfortunately these are just not very good wines. They're at the low end of the mass market, and they're pretty much the equivalent of, say, Bud Light, Coors and Miller Genuine Draft. Which is "better"? Does it matter?

Had to laugh at your example. I agree with you but you have no idea, living in St. Louis, how many people will drink NOTHING but Bud, Bud Light or one of it's sidekicks. I have tried to convert some and have served good Belgium Ales and ask for comments. The vast majority of the time I get "OK, but not as good as Bud Light". I even keep a couple of bottles in the fridge for these people who are otherwise quite normal. The three wines mentioned may actually be worse than Bud Light.

I wonder if they still make Virginia Dare, one of my father's faves.

I realize the three I asked about are not the best, but if someone offered me a glass of one of them, I think I could choke it down without spewing it across the room. It was a test question.

Yeah, I do, actually, Walt. Remember, it's not all that long a haul over here on I-64, and the Anheuser-Busch influence is still strong. Our ballpark has a gigantic "Budweiser" billboard almost as big as the ones at Busch Stadium.

Its Labatte's here - well stocked at the ball park, hockey arena and football stadium. I actually like Labatte's.
