After our experience with a gift Viognier Friday evening, Elaine and I decided to try another for comparison.

2005 Yalumba South Australia Viognier. 14.5%, screw cap, $13.99 in WV. This one definitely did not taste like Muscat. Altogether more substantial on the palate, with the expected citrus/honeysuckle/tropical fruit. Dry or nearly so, based entirely on palate sense. I still don't care for Viognier much, but this was well made, sound and in WV at least, probably worth the money but not a particularly good QPR.
