WTN: Corino Barolo Vigna Giachini

A truly beautiful wine; it came out of the bottle with only a slight orange tint to the rich red. The nose was powerful, perhaps a little bit of loam or mushroom mixed in with usual Nebbiolo notes. Still quite young, but not *too* young. I had not been able to decant this (fortunately I have another). So it's complexity did not fully emerge. But the midpalate was firm, really substantial and the tannins well integrated. A real treat!

Vintage? Alcohol level? C'mon, get your act together!

My apologies (it was a late night). The vintage was 1997; the alcohol 14% (which surprised me, as it did not seem that high).
