Delicious Tocai Friulano from Plozner!

by Bob Parsons Alberta » Thu Oct 15, 2009 12:53 pm

WTN: `07 Plozner Friulano Grave, Friuli.

$18 Cdn, 12.5% alc, good natural cork. 100% Tocai, an Empson import.

Color. Medium straw with brief brownish tinge.

Nose. Very aromatic, grass, nutty, pear, fragrant.

Palate. Initial spritz noted, crisp acidity but not overdone. Long finish, has the typical pleasingly bitterish nuance on the finish. Pear to the forefront, apple, some gooseberry too. Very nice wine, never seems to disappoint.
