We're tasting tonight some of EdiSimcic's orange wines and ChristopherTracey's ChanningDaughter Ramato PinotGrigio orange wine.

A highly recommended read.

The wines have a unique purpose on the table. They have tannins like red wines that match food, yet the spectrum of flavors stays white. People find an affinity with autumn flavors like squash or sage, perhaps because of the color.
I've been doing this for years with a table grape called Steuben. It's a great match for Thanksgiving dinner.

Hi Howie,
Like the article said this idea of so-called “orange wine” is not something new but the traditional and old-fashion way of doing it.

BTW Tom thanks for posting the article, excellent read indeed! Christopher Tracey of Channing Daughters does produce nice unique and distinguished wines. The Pour (NYT) also had an article on orange wine written by Eric Asimov.
