WTN: 1989 Francois Pinon Vouvray Liquoreux Premiere Trie

This wasn't on the printed wine list of dessert wines but I heard the couple at the table next to me at Vin Rouge, Durham, NC, ordering it so I requested it also. It was expensive for one glass but that is to be expected with a 20-year old well regarded Chenin Blanc. Medium gold color with some transparency. Candied apricot, orange peel, light honey in the nose and/or flavors. Tangerine note on the finish. Sweet without being sugary. A rare treat for me.

The '89s are great. I had one a few years ago, thanks to Ed Draves. Here is the link: http://www.wineloverspage.com/forum/village/viewtopic.php?f=3&t=7381&p=58510.
Chico - Hey! This Bottle is empty!
Groucho - That's because it's dry Champagne.

thanks for notes. I have one bottle of the Pinon 1ere Trie, haven't tried yet. But 1989 is my fave Loire sticky vintage. The Foreau Reserve, various mllx levels Huets (when not corked), etc are all great. I think I have this, the Huet Le Mont 1ere Trie, and a couple Moulin Touchais left.
