WTN: Chassagne with lobster

by Dale Williams » Sun Oct 11, 2009 6:29 pm

Fairway is having a $5/lb lobster sale, I picked up some with some butternut squash and baby spinach. Saturday dinner wine was the 2006 Bernard Morey "Les Embrazees" Chassagne-Montrachet 1er. Apples, pears, and lemon, nice light toasty/vanillin oak. Medium to full bodied, good thought not zippy acidity, good length. B++

Grade disclaimer: I'm a very easy grader, basically A is an excellent wine, B a good wine, C mediocre. Anything below C means I wouldn't drink at a party where it was only choice. Furthermore, I offer no promises of objectivity, accuracy, and certainly not of consistency.

I had been thinking about lobsters for this long weekend (I get Columbus Day off). The Upper West Side Fairway is closer to me than making the trek to Chinatown for some good live ones. I hope the local Fairway still has it tomorrow.
