Mendoza
Bodega Trapiche
Dark purple in the glass.
Berry, spices, earth and light chocolate on the nose.
Big and mouthfilling, soft, spicy, chocolate, fairly thick, cherry, blueberry, red currants, fleshy, very tangy acidity, moderate bitter tannins, a charred edge, tomato.
A bitter finish.
A big and rich wine, but I found the acidity quite high and quite distracting. Have enjoyed the Broquel Bonarda a couple of times over the years and I am pretty sure I was more pleased with previous vintages.
Purchased at $15.95 (Canadian).
