WTN: A half of Jadot

by Salil » Tue Oct 06, 2009 6:56 pm

2004 Louis Jadot Pernand-Vergelesses En Caradeux Clos de la Croix de Pierre
From half bottle, bought a few of these for about $14 (a quick aside - why aren't there more Burgs in half bottles?) on David Bueker's recommendation. Very tasty with bright red fruits over savoury gravelly flavours and some faint herbal elements that aren't intrusive and give the fruit a nice sense of freshness. Good acidity and fine, grainy tannins here - really enjoyable, food-friendly and great value for money. Life is good with a glass of this alongside dinner and the new Mark Knopfler album in the CD player. :D

Sounds like an appropriately decadent experience. I love the twang that Knopfler gets by using his fingers instead of a pick.

Did those herbal elements evolve at all with air?
