Opened a bottle of 2001 Louis Jadot Meursault Genevrieres for some Chardonnay-loving friends on Saturday night. I actually had not one but two backup bottles in the fridge just in case the dreaded premature oxidation beast decided to take a bite out of the bottle.
Happily there was no need, as this bottle showed bright, lemony fruit with a light to moderate oak influence and overall refreshing feel. It really was quite lovely. It certainly did not turn around my White Burg opinions, as I am only 60/40 good to bad with this bottling (and worse with others - e.g. 2002 Fevre Chablis), but it was a relief on one night.
