Domaine Paul Autard Côte du Rhone France 2004. 14% alcohol; blend of 70% Grenache, 15% Syrah, and 15% Counoise. $15.00, Chef Central, Paramus, NJ. http://www.chefcentral.com/ Imported by V.O.S. Selections, New York, NY. http://www.vosselections.com/Domains/1089.html

Deep red color, almost black, deep hue, lovely fruit and spice aroma and taste, medium mouth feel, firm tannins that developed beautifully in the glass, long, complex finish. A remarkable wine for the price. 4*. Great QPR.

Great match with a simple pizza on flat bread: mozz, Rao tomato sauce, sweet sausage and green peppers -- left overs all.

Wine Maker Notes:

http://www.avignon-et-provence.com/pdg/ ... index.html
Grape Varieties : 70% Grenache - 15% Syrah - 15% Counoise
Vinification : The grapes are destemmed, then traditionally vinified in thermo-regulated tanks.
Tasting : Well structured tannins, delicate on one hand and intense on the other, with a strong fruity taste in the mouth.
