After discussing this wine today, and thinking about it all day, I was psyched to open the bottle and have a taste. It was better than expected with its earthy, mushroom, and raspberry nose. On the palate was bright acidity, light tannins, and a satisfying ending with cranberries, and juicy raspberries. Sprightly and fun to drink. Tis the season for Pinot Noir.
If I weren't down to my last 2005 I might do the same tonight. But I'm curious to see how well it ages for another year or so. I agree that crisp weather calls out for Burgundy...braised meats and Burgundy.
