Over the past few years, I have been fortunate to taste some great wines from Perez Cruz. The other day I sampled 3 reds from this Maipo setup. The `08 Carmenere had a big nose and lacked the greenness one thinks of with this varietal. Very nice wine, perhaps a tad soft for some here? The `08 Cot was tremendous and one malbec I will look out for when the main allocation arrives here in town (Devines has scooped the entire lot!). A `06 Liguai is a CS, Syrah, Carmenere blend, has a funky earthy nose, shows good tannins and will need some cellaring I think.
I was happy to be in the store when these wines were poured!
