This wine has gotten a lot of praise in the press recently and I've enjoyed past vintages, so I thought I'd give it a try.
2005 Señorío de San Vicente Tempranillo Rioja
Full flavored with muscular fruit and a touch of light floral overtones. Some earthy/barnyard. Tight, bright, acidic tannins and a slightly puckerish middle. Lots of dark espresso on long finish. This is a fairly big brawny wine with feminine feel, restrained and contained in itself. Not flabby or overly explosive. Quite suave. Although I like this a lot, I don't think I'll put any of these away at this price ($45). Currently my 2001s are drinking very well.
