2008 Farro Campania DepiéRosé [Piedrosso] (Campania IGT, southwestern Italy) cork closure, 12% - imported to USA by North Berkeley Imports, Berkeley, California - my first piedrosso - appears rose salmon, smell fragrant salty rocks, charcoal, great rosé nose, mouthfeel rounded and slithery, taste wonderful spice, balanced, charcoal and spice yet very soft, an accomplished rosé, yum!
2007 Domaine Luneau (Luneau-Papin) Gros-Plant du Pays Nantais Vieilles Vignes Sur Lie (Pays Nantais, Loire Valley, northwestern France) cork closure, 11% - imported to USA by Louis/Dressner Selections/LDM Wines, New York, New York - my first Gros-Plant, aka Folle Blanche, aka Piquepoul Blanc, aka Picpoul, aka Damery, aka Hivernage, aka Gros Meslieres, aka Avello, aka Picpoule Blanc - appears pale light gold, smell nice salty, dry, firm and nice nose, mouthfeel good spritz, taste clean and crunchy, very green, taste explodes as it opens, salty green, lime juice and vegetables, delicious, fantastic wine as I was cooking, paired excellently with some stir-fried chinese mustard green and bok choy, more tired and a bit more ho-hum on day two, but day one made it a fantastic wine--should be cheaper than the $15 pricetag, however
