WTN: Valle Real Vigne Nuove Montepulciano D'Abruzzo 2007

Decanted about 15 minutes before supper.

Dark purple in the glass.

A shy nose, revealing hints of raspberry, spices and red licorice.

Medium weight, spicy, floral, blood pudding, light but rich raspberry and cherry fruit, drying, tangy, rather firm and mildly tannic.

Tannic and drying on the finish.

Not a bad wine, but, obviously, would benefit from a year or two in a cellar.

Purchased on sale at $13.90 (Canadian).
