WTN: It remains consistent (ESJ Rose)

by David M. Bueker » Sun Aug 30, 2009 8:09 pm

2006 Edmunds St. John Rose Bone Jolly Witters Vineyard
So much has been said about this wine over the last 2+ years that I am not sure what else needs to be said other than after those 2+ years it is still fruity, shows a little touch of earth & is drop dead delicious. Bravo Steve.

Good to know this is drinking so nicely as I have 4-5 more bottles. :)

We've been drinking the 08 Jolly plus the Heart of Gold all summer. Many YUM points. :)

Given how the '06 has held up I am tempted to get some of the '08 (unless of course there is going to likely be an '09).

There IS still some '08, there will be '09, but not before April '10. The '08 is still quite yummy, if I do say so myself.

You see here is where Steve forces my hand. The '09 won't be around until the shipping window is starting to close, thus making it more important to get some '08. Deft marketing Steve. :D

David, I believe you said in chat Sunday that you only had a couple bottles of this left. If you don't bite the bullet and get some 08, what will you drink through October. Man one can only drink so much Riesling and the pink goes so well with friends out on the deck on a summer afternoon or evening. I am pretty sure I have 4-5 of the 06 and probably some of the 07, but no 08 (YET) I have never seen the Heart of Gold in Ky or Oh, and IIRC I asked Vintner Select if they had ordered that wine, and got a reply in the negative. I will check with them again tomorrow, but in the meantime, Steve if you read this, email me a price plus shipping of a six pack?

No offense to Steve, but I am enjoying the 2008 Pali Rosé. I will probably wait for the '09.

Or you could always try your local Fred Meyer, Chef :) That's where I used to get my stash.
