Santa Laura
Colchagua Valley
Decanted for 40 minutes before supper.
Dark red in the glass.
Chocolate and spicy on the nose.
Medium weight, rather firm, black cherry, peppery, chocolate, spicy, tangy, rather earthy, restrained, a hint of greeness (which I quite often find with economically priced reds from South America), with some alcohol burn toward the end.
Drying on the finish.
Purchased at $13.95 (Canadian).
This wine had received some fairly good reviews from local wine writers, but I couldn't see what the fuss was all about.
